Who we are
Most of us, who come from the island of Andros, hold a dear memory of our mothers, grandmothers or aunts preparing the handmade soap that along with the aid of the water that sprung from the blessed soil of Andros, would clean perfectly all the white clothes and linens of our households. That is the sensation I was looking for years during my travels abroad, finding soaps made out from special ingredients from all over the world. I was mesmerized by the feeling, the fragrances, the excellent quality and the luxury of their foam. The idea alone of creating soaps like those was an enormous experience and this is how “Soap by Eleni” was born.
Our cause and action
We want to contribute in our own way to the preservation and exploitation of our island’s natural beauty. Therefore with the purchase of any of our soaps, you contribute in the maintenance and cleaning of the pathways of Andros. In this attempt of ours, we are in collaboration and are supporting the research and action of the androsroutes.gr team.
Fertile. Unobtrusively rich. Self-sufficient. Proud. Independent, with a character of its own. One of the biggest, most fertile and most special islands of the Cyclades complex with a long history, finesse, culture and full of natural beauty. A destination that pulls you like a magnet and makes you want to visit it over and over again. Since you always have something new and exciting to discover and enjoy. It is the island that made Andeas Embirikos, the famous Greek writer and poet to start his lyrical praise in his novel “The Great Eastern” with the following words: “The starting point was the island of Andros of the Cyclades. The marvelous island, the Queen of the Aegean”.
“Wine from local vine yards, homemade rose water, spearmint, bergamot, savory, lavender and merolies from Gialia are blended with cedar, sandalwood, rosewood…”
Why choose a handmade soap with olive oil
We are firmly committed to the support of the Sailing Races and the Andros Yacht Club.
“Through the sky’s blue, from which the wind and the sea take their color, colorful boats of sailors have as their boundary, the open horizon.
It is difficult to capture the Air. However the fulfillment of the wish for a safe return and victory becomes a promised gift and honor to the Patron Saint of the people of the sea”
